About Holistic Vision

Holistic medical care is defined as an approach characterized by the treatment of the whole person rather than just the symptoms of a disease.

Our practice, Holistic Vision, embraces the complex nature of vision which integrates processing visual information, critical to our sense of balance, coordination, reading ability, mental focus, and visual comfort. Optimal visual function is dependent on a healthy nervous system and is affected by general wellness, nutrition, and stress management.

Holistic Vision considers the effects on vision of a person’s emotional, social and physical well-being as a basis to guide testing and treatment.

Holistic Vision is a specialty eye care clinic that provides advanced therapies in two specific areas: Vision Therapy/Vision Development and Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation. Dr. Robin Sapossnek, OD, FCOVD, FNORA, (double board-certified optometrist), receives patient referrals from a range of medical specialties, including but not limited to optometry, ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, neurology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitative medicine, and integrative physicians, neuropsychologists, speech therapists, and pediatricians.

Dr. Sapossnek is proud to be one of only a few eye doctors in the United States – and the only one in the Philadelphia area – with advanced training and certification for providing integrative vision therapies for adults and children. She is deeply dedicated to helping people who have suffered visual problems as a result of concussion or traumatic brain injury. As a pediatric optometrist, she also offers compassionate, comprehensive vision treatments for learning-related vision problems, helping to ensure that children don’t fall behind in school or on the playing field as a result of eye alignment issues.

Dr. Sapossnek brings years of experience, top qualifications and a caring approach to every one of the treatment programs that she custom-designs for her patients. She is trained in functional nutrition, wellness, and integrative vision therapies, positioning her perfectly as an expert in holistic eye care.

Communication between eye doctor and patient is the cornerstone of our work at Holistic Vision. Dr. Sapossnek established our holistic eye care practice to help people improve their complex vision problems by first listening to their problems and explaining the issues so that people understand how the treatment process works, which she firmly believes is a fantastic motivator for success.

As both her adult and pediatric optometrist patients attest, she has helped many people resolve difficult, long-standing vision issues –

“The letters no longer jump on the page. I am reading the newspaper, doing the crossword puzzle and reading large print books. I am able to resume playing bridge. I am driving better without the feeling that other cars are “coming” at me.” (age 56)

“Before vision therapy, Joseph had headaches, he always rubbed his eyes, had poor reading skills, and lost his place. Joseph no longer gets headaches, his reading has improved 100%, and his eyes feel a lot better.” (age 7)
